The Christus St. Michael Health System will award health and wellness grants totaling $30,000 to 24 area Texas schools at a luncheon on June 26.

Areas schools receiving grants include: Bloomburg, Clarksville, Malta, McLeod, Mt. Vernon, Simms, Hooks, Maud, Linden-Kildare, Texarkana, Redwater, Red Lick, Queen City, Avery, Atlanta, Liberty-Eylau, Hughes Springs, New Boston, Daingerfield, Pleasant Grove, DeKalb, Jefferson, Pittsburg and Hubbard.

The check presentations will be at the Christus St. Michael North Conference Center 2600 St. Michael Drive in Texarkana. On June 26 at noon.

The funding of this program was provided by Christus St. Michael Health System in conjunction with Genesis PrimeCare, the Mobile Pediatric Asthma Program, only one of two in the state of Texas, offers asthma screenings and evaluations at no charge to participants. In addition to asthma screenings, the Christus St. Michael Mobile Asthma Program provides services such as breathing tests, personal asthma management plans, parent and child education as well as follow-up care.
