Chance the Rapper made his second appearance on Saturday Night Live over the weekend and delivered a festive performance of “Finish Line” and a tender rendition of “Same Drugs.” He even participated in a holiday-themed skit as well.

For his first performance, Chano was dressed like a B-boy Santa Claus with his bright red overalls, white shirt, black “Chance 3” cap and matching boots. Backed by his band The Social Experiment and a gospel choir, the Chicago native performed “Finish Line” where reflectively rapped about his past struggles and gives thanks for all of his blessings this year. Rapper Noname also graced the stage and delivered a spoken-word verse as Chance danced along onstage.

For his second performance of the night, Chance rapped “Same Drugs.” This time, he sat behind a white piano to recite his rhymes while a violinist and choir provide a spiritual vibe to the rendition. As snow fell down on the stage, Chance delivered one message to the rapt crowd: “Don’t forget the happy thoughts. All you need is happy thoughts.”

But Chance wasn’t done.

The 23-year-old rapper appeared in a Run-DMC-inspired holiday skit with SNL cast member Kenan Thompson. Dressed as the legendary rap group, the dynamic duo rapped about President Barack Obama’s last Christmas in the White House. The skit should also remind you of Run-DMC’s classic holiday video, “Christmas in Hollis.”

Overall, Chance the Rapper finished on top with a great performance. And 2017 is looking pretty good for him as well. In February, the rhymer is looking to take home some golden gramophones as his Coloring Book album earned him seven Grammy nominations.
