German Shepherds are my favorite breed so the new show on National Geographic Wild is perfect for me. 'Alpha Dogs' is a great show if you like to watch people being taken down by trained dogs. For some reason I get satisfaction out of watching a drug sniffing dog do his job.

With the urban sprawl taking over more and more of the landscape, we have more sightings of wild animals making their way into neighborhoods. Check out this video of two bobcats having a misunderstanding in somebody's front yard.

Heinekin is approximately one year old. A sweet boy that is afraid of his own shadow. He appears to have been beaten at some point in his life. A scared dog that needs a patient family to give him love and comfort.

There are many cats and kittens at our local animal shelter that are waiting for someone to adopt them. They are full of personality and are craving affection. Most of these cats are already litter box trained too! No adoption fees in February. Just pay the spay/neuter fee. Micro-chipping your pet is only $20 through the shelter.

I saw this 2013 Super Bowl ad and there was only one name I could think of for the baby Clydesdale... "CLETUS".

Here is a sad but sweet story that hits close to home for me. It's about a dog named Lennox that lived like a boss, and his last meal was fit for such a great dog.

Olive is a beautiful Collie mix. She loves to play with toys and could learn to fetch easily. She gently takes treats. Olive is less than 2 years old and weighs less than 30 pounds. She is possibly house trained already. Great on a leash. Olive is currently enrolled in the obedience training program at the shelter.

Max is a blonde pitt mix that is very sweet and good on a leash but he is so timid at the shelter and just wants a much quieter place to call home.

Tyson has a bubbly personality like most Boxers do. He is less than 2 years old. A beautiful brindle color. He has been at the shelter since August and would love to start the new year out in a new home.

Sophie is a very sweet dog. She looks to be a collie/heeler mix. She is approximately 2 years old, super friendly. She is playful but not hyper. She will steal your heart!

Dixie is a 2 year old Spaniel mix. She is hilarious! She loves to run and play. She can catch a ball on the bounce. She is personality plus! Check out her ball-playing videos below. You will fall in love with Dixie when you meet her.
