Provide a Pet a Pad Tuesday

  Leon is one year old and looks like he is mixed with Boxer. He would love is own family or he could make great dog for one owner as well. He seems to be a very loyal dog and loves affection.   Buddy is a super cool little dog. He fetches like a big dog! He brings the ball back and drops it at your feet. He sits and waits for you to throw it again. Buddy is good on a leash and is also good with being carried. He weighs about 18 pounds. Buddy is a Puggle which is a mix between a Pug and a Beagle. Spanky is a laid back, young dog! He is very mellow. Spanky is less than two years old with the maturity level of a senior. He walks great on a leash and is light enough to be carried too. Trixie looks to be a greyhound mix. She loves to play fetch. Trixie is approximately two years old. She weighs around 40 pounds. She sits on command and rolls over to be pet. She will sit and wait for you to throw a toy for her to fetch. Trixie is a people-pleaser and follows direction well. She is very sweet too!

Jeff is a wirehaired dachshund. He is an adult. Jeff is a happy dog and walks well on a leash. Jeff is around 20 pounds. He is currently at the animal shelter in Texarkana. The Animal Care and Adoption Center is located at 203 Harrison. Check out his photos and videos below.

Rosco is a shepherd mix that is approximately one and a half years old. He is a young pup but so very smart. He immediately followed instructions to come, sit and run through the dog tunnel. Jenny is a young brindle pitt who was pregnant when she was taken to the shelter. Jenny was wondering the streets of Texarkana in search of food. She was able to have her babies in the shelter and now that they have all gone to new homes Jenny is ready for a new home too. Jenny is a compact size weighing approximately 40 pounds. UPDATE: Tuesday, September 3 - Cocoa is still at the shelter. She is a 15-pound tri-colored male Border Collie that arrived at the shelter in May after animal control found him wandering around as a stray. Only a year and a half old, he has tons of puppy power and will amaze you with how athletic he is...

UPDATE: Tuesday, September 3 - Speedy is still available! She is a female Chi-weenie with maybe a little Jack Russell Terrier mixed in which adds to her amazing speed. She is less than one year old. An energetic dog with a great personality. She was so much fun to play with and just to watch! She could easily learn to play fetch as she likes to chase and carry the ball around, or even a fruit seed

UPDATE September 1 - Still available: Luke and Monte are brothers and they came to the shelter together. They are approximately one and a half years old. They are both sweet dogs; a little slow to warm up but will quickly form a bond and will guard and protect their new family. Luke and Monte seem to be interested in frisbees and balls so we are sure they could learn to play fetch.
