Ernie is a pocket-size Pitty. He is a funny dog that likes to run around and check out all the smells then come back to check in on his human. Ernie is a happy and gentle dog that is great on a leash. His happiness is contagious!

A variety of dogs and cats will be available for adoption on Saturday, June 27, at PetSmart in Texarkana. Dog rescue groups will be set up inside as well as outside the store so be sure to look from the front to the back.

These new videos show the newest arrivals of dogs and puppies at the animal shelter in Texarkana as well as some that are still waiting after several weeks to either be reclaimed or be moved to the adoption floor.

Roxy is a one year old border collie and beagle mix that has already been spayed and she is house trained too! She is currently at the animal shelter in Texarkana. She is a very sweet and fun pup. She plays well with others and even a pig!

Our featured pet this week is a standard schnauzer mix female. She is beautiful with brindle colored legs and a black colored body. She is very sweet and playful. Her name is Tonya and she is pretty young. She will be very easy to train because she is eager to learn.

Our featured pet this week is a white pit pup that is full of sweet and fun personality. His name is Raccoon. He is very smart and already knows how to play fetch. When he brings the toy or whatever you throw for him to fetch, he will sit and drop it at your feet.

Heartworm disease in dogs and cats is very prevalent in our area. I run a large breed dog rescue and approximately 95% of the dogs I take into the rescue test positive for heartworms. This is a preventable disease.

Nikon has a new camera case that straps to your dog's chest and takes photos whenever its heart rate goes up.  It's still currently in the development stages.

Jynx is a super laid back kitty that would love to be your house companion. Jynx is smaller than the normal size cat too. She came to the shelter as a stray. If they could only talk and tell us where they lived or what has happened to them.
