Texarkana Animal League is hosting an adoption event on Saturday at PetSmart in Texarkana to accept applications for adopting or fostering homeless dogs and cats. Passion for Pooches and Little Paws Rescue will also attend this event.

The dogs in these two videos seemed so incredibly sweet. They also seem kind of sad. I'm sure they are missing being in a home with a family so please help share their information so they can be adopted.

This dog was supposedly found approximately two months ago wandering around the Tennessee Road area in Texarkana, Ark. The person who dropped him off at the shelter said he has tried to find the owner with no luck. Now, this boy will wait at the shelter for his owners to reclaim him or someone to adopt him.

DJango is our featured pet of the week from the animal shelter in Texarkana. He is a young, mixed breed pup that would make a great family pet. He likes to romp and play. He is a fun-loving boy.

The animal shelter in Texarkana, Ark., often faces issues of having enough space for all of the animals coming in. In recent weeks, the shelter was full and had to put animals to sleep to make room for all of the new owner surrenders and strays coming in daily. Please share these videos of the dogs at the shelter. We have several groups that rescue specific breeds, some rescue small breed dogs and others rescue all types and sizes. Read on to find out important information about theses rescues.

Tess is a hound that has been at the animal shelter for almost one year, which is a very long time. She is a dark color so maybe people just haven't seen her. She loves to be outside and often is on the other side of the wall when people walk through the shelter. She needs some sharing and caring to get her out before it is too late. She is great with dogs and very friendly.

The second annual Fur Ball is coming in April. The funds raised will benefit our local animal shelter, the Animal Care and Adoption Center, in Texarkana, Ark.

Jean Thompson will hold an adoption event next to Tractor Supply on State Line in Texarkana on Saturday, Feb. 20, from 10AM to 4PM. There is no adoption fee.
