Twix is a sweet, medium sized dog that has a great disposition. She walks great on a leash and has a very quiet demeanor. She came to the shelter pregnant and gave birth to 12 babies in one of the kennels. None of the babies lived. So now Twix is looking for a fresh start.

Texarkana Animal League is hosting a dog adoption event on Saturday at PetSmart in Texarkana to accept applications for adopting or fostering dogs. Passion for Pooches Rescue and Little Paws Rescue will also be there. There will be a variety of dogs and cats looking for homes.

Each week we feature a pet from the shelter in hopes they will be noticed by someone and adopted. You have helped us spread the word so wonderfully that several of the dogs have found homes. Here are just a few that you have helped save.

Sweet Lady J is a cattle dog mix. She walks great on a leash, knows sit and down too. She is a wonderful dog with a fabulous sweet disposition. Watch the video where she is put through the paces. It looks as though she knows hand commands.

Spike is a happy go lucky dog. When he first arrived at the shelter he didn't know much about love and people. He had spent his entire life on a chain and used as a breeding dog. Now he has a bed and shelter. He loves watching people walk by and lights up when they stop to talk to him. His adoption fee is $40.
