This very large and very sweet Rottweiler is a special needs boy. Zeus is deaf and has some hip dysplasia. He was given up to the animal shelter in Texarkana by his owner this past April. He is a loving dog and deserves a caring owner who can manage his needs.

Texas Roadhouse is sponsoring a free lunch with a donation on Tuesday, May 17, from 11AM to 1PM, to benefit the Texarkana Humane Society.

This week we are featuring two gorgeous puppies. They are catahoulas and possibly hound mixes. One is a male and one is a female. It is not clear but they appear to be siblings. The dapple markings are eye-catching and these puppies are just longing for attention and love.

Cookie Dough is our Pet of the Week. He is a pit bull mix, neutered and probably around two years old. He loves to be pet and play. He runs around like a puppy. He pressed his side against the kennel gate just begging for attention. Since he is already neutered, his adoption fee is only $40 from the Animal Care and Adoption Center in Texarkana, Ark. on Harrison Street.

Mother's Day is this weekend and what better time to add a special friend to the family by adopting a cat or dog during the pet adoption event on Saturday, May 7 at PetSmart in Texarkana.

You can adopt your next best friend this Saturday at PetSmart. Free samples of dog food will be available during this event.

Bonnie is a Boxer mix that is less than two years old.  She was surrendered to the animal shelter by her owner in March, with no reason noted on the paper work. Poor thing is very scared.

This Yellow Lab was picked up as a stray on Monday, April 25 on Will Greer Road. She is now at the Animal Care and Adoption Center of Texarkana, Ark. which is our local animal shelter. Please share her information so we can get her back home or find a new home for her.

Look at this stray dog. He is a Black Lab and currently at the animal shelter in Texarkana known as the Animal Care and Adoption Center of Texarkana, Ark. He was picked up on Will Greer Road on Monday, April 25.

Our featured pet this week is a Dutch shepherd mix. She is approximately 1 year old and very sweet. She runs super fast. She enjoys affection and hanging out with her person too. Very smart. She walked great on a leash and when it was time to go back into the shelter from the exercise area, she listened and did exactly as I asked.

These puppies need your help, they need many prayers to help them pull through an illness that has taken most of their litter mates already. The litter started with thirteen and now there are just four sweet, adorable babies trying to hold on to life.
