March 28, 2012 No matter where you drive in Texarkana, it seems as though our vehicles are being beaten to pieces by potholes. Arkansas Boulevard is so bumpy and loaded with holes, it has almost become one of the roads to avoid in Texarkana. The road crew recently patched holes but they just keep popping up!

Hanging out in a Duck Blind
January 4, 2012 My husband, stepson and I went out on a duck hunting venture with my brother-in-law Glen. Glen is my supplier. I love to eat duck and he loves to hunt ducks. It works out great.
It was a chilly morning in December. Perfect for ducks, if only the ducks had gotten the memo. Oh well, we had fun anyway.

Mimi’s Private Dinner Party at Twisted Vines
December 20, 2011 I won one of those silent auction deals at the Mistletoe Fair this year. It was a private party dinner for four people at Twisted Vines. I wanted to have a nice holiday dinner with family and friends so I rushed to schedule it before Christmas.
What an amazing experience and an incredible dinner. The atmosphere was more than I could have asked for! We had the entire place to ourselves. We were catered to like rock stars.
Dinner was my planned around one of my favorite foods, there was Christmas music playing in the background as well as the Miracle on 34th Street movie on a huge screen. The scene was set for a fabulous evening.

I was the FIRST customer at Crawfish Palace in Haughton, LA last week. I am so excited that my favorite food is back in season. It will be a while before they make it all the way to Texarkana so until then, I will be traveling South.

Holiday Fun With the Family
November 28, 2011 Thanksgiving was fun this year. My sister from Massachusetts was able to come in for a visit. We did a little holiday cooking and a lot of laughing. Okay, she did a lot of cooking and I did a little. She made this beautiful apple pie that didn't get cut into on Thanksgiving day! My cranberry sauce didn't make it out of the fridge either. Too funny.
