In honor of being selected as the State Honor Band, the Arkansas High School Band will perform a concert on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Horner Hall, in the Hot Springs Convention Center.

We didn't have the "Winter storm" everyone was expecting in our area but there are areas of black ice so there are quite a few school districts and colleges and universities in the surrounding areas of Texarkana that have decided to close because of sub-freezing temperatures and the possibility of black ice on roads making travel dangerous.

With the potential of wintery weather today, some schools in Texarkana and surrounding areas have already made the decision to go ahead and cancel classes today.

Covid cases may be starting to go down a bit in the state of Arkansas but still not down enough to continue with plans for a fundraiser for Kid's College. The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana Foundation made the tough decision to reschedule the 15th Annual Beads, Bags, and Bangles Kids’ College fundraiser due to the number of COVID-19 cases in the area.
