Occupy Texarkana will be holding a demonstration on Friday, January 20 from 12PM to 5PM at the Downtown Post Office and Federal Courthouse located at 500 North State Line Ave.

It is time for the 13th Annual Bramlett Beans & Cornbread Community Fundraiser hosted by former Mayor James Bramlett and the Texarkana, Texas Parks and Recreation Department. Enjoy yummy beans and cornbread on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 11AM to 1PM at the Southwest Center on 7th Street in Texarkana, Texas. Lunch is only $5 and includes beverage and dessert or bring six non-perishable food items and lunch is FREE.

Mistletoe Fair is this weekend at the Four States Fairgrounds Entertainment Center. Enjoy shopping at local vendor booths as well as those from far away. Unique Christmas gifts galore! All of the money raised by the Junior League of Texarkana stays in our local community and benefits many programs like Shoes for the Sole providing shoes for kids and Holiday from the Heart giving kids a $100 shopping spree for Christmas. Preview Party is Thursday from 7PM to 10:30PM. Regular shopping is Friday 9AM - 8PM, Saturday 9AM - 7PM and Sunday 12Noon - 5PM. Santa arrives on Friday at 6PM. Running Under the Mistletoe is the second annual 5K Run & Walk benefiting the Junior League of Texarkana. This year's event will be on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Texas A&M-Texarkana Bringle Lake Campus. Check-in is at 8AM and the race begins at 9AM.
Early registration is due on or before Wednesday, November 9. The fee is $20 and includes an awesome event t-shirt. Late registration is $25 and the t-shirt will be based on availability.
The Texarkana Animal League will unleash their 2012 Tails of Two Cities Day Planner at their 'Unleashed Party' on Thursday, November 10, from 6PM to 10PM at Zapata's Party Room. Music by Jeremy Phifer & the Texas Badwater Band, Mexican buffet, raffles and a silent auction of the original art by Nancy Martin Hall that is featured on the 2012 Planner. You will also be able to purchase the day planners at the party or at the door for just $25.
