Blood Donations Needed — Give April 29 at Bi-State

LifeShare Blood Centers of Texarkana is holding a blood drive on Wednesday, April 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bi-State Justice Building in Downtown Texarkana. All donors will receive a free t-shirt.

About 1 in 7 people entering a hospital need blood. One blood donation, approximately one pint of blood, can save up to three lives. Every donation has the potential to save someone’s life. LifeShare Blood Centers in Texarkana supplies blood to 117 medical facilities in our area. After blood donation, testing and processing takes a minimum of 24 hours before the blood is available for patient use. Donations of all blood types are needed for constant replenishing.

We partner with businesses, schools, and other organizations in your community who are dedicated to having regular blood drives, ensuring your local medical facilities have a readily available blood supply -- when patients in your community need it.

LifeShare Blood Centers of Texarkana is always looking for new people to help with blood drives. With some planning, you and your organization can have a successful blood drive. A local LifeShare Donor Recruiter will work with you to help you with or a recurring blood donor program. For most blood drives, LifeShare can set up to collect blood donations in available space at your location, or a mobile donor coach can be brought on site.

Maybe you have a loved one that needs blood. You can sponsor a replenishment blood drive. Only the blood that already has been donated, tested and processed is available for transfusion to patients. Often, patients’ friends and family members want to help replace the blood used by a patient. Your LifeShare Donor Recruiter will help you plan a replenishment blood drive.
