If you're like me, you probably were mourning a bit after the last game of the baseball World Series. But here's some good news. Baseball is being played in town this week.

The brand new team at Texas A&M-Texarkana will be providing sports entertainment in Texarkana. The Eagles baseball team is wrapping up the fall season with the inaugural Fall Classic World Series, beginning Wednesday, November 4.

The A&M-Texarkana coaching staff has split its squad into the Navy team that will be coached by Coach Lance Nugent and Coach Jon Phillips and the maroon team that will be coached by Coach Redi Peavy and Coach Cruz Sedillo.
All of the games will be a best-of-five series that are seven innings in length. Games will be played at George Dobson Field, Spring Lake Park, 4303 North Park Road, Texarkana, Texas.
Game times for the Fall Classic World Series are as follows:
·         Game 1 – Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 6:30PM
·         Game 2 – Thursday, Nov. 5 at 2:30PM
·         Game 3 – Saturday, Nov. 7 at noon
·         Game 4 – Sunday, Nov. 8 at 1PM
·         Game 5 – Monday - TBA
"As we close out a productive fall, we as a staff are excited to see how the club has progressed with something on the line,” said Head Coach Steve Jones. "If the weather holds off,  it should be a great finish to the fall."
Rain is in the forecast for Thursday. In the event of a wash out, a double-header will be played on Saturday at noon, with another game to follow.
All games are free and open to the public.
