The folks over at DoSomething.org have released their annual ‘Celebs Gone Good’ Top 20 list and it’s full of A-listers like Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato. Of course Lady Gaga tops the list for the second year in a row, while the Biebs pole vaulted to the No. 2 spot, up from No. 10 in 2010. The top 3 is rounded out by actor George Clooney.
Lady Gaga wasn’t kidding when she said she is happy not having her own home (or the mortgage that goes along with it) and instead crashing on the air mattress at her parents’ apartment in New York City.
The ‘Marry the Night’ singer carries that attitude when she stays with her alleged boyfriend and ‘You & I’ video co-star Taylor Kinney in his San Diego beach shack. Photos of the abode have surfaced and it’s certainly a bit rugged!
Katy Perry‘s current single, the ode to young love lost known as ‘The One That Got Away,’ has been given the remix treatment. The remix version features an assist from rapper B.o.B. and other than two verses dropped in at the beginning and ending portions of the song, not much is different. Essentially, B.o.B. sprinkles the song with a few rhymes, giving it a little more of an urban edge.
Leona Lewis dropped the sun-splashed single ‘Collide‘ earlier this year, dealt with a plagiarism claim regarding the song and then went MIA for a second. She disappeared like a ghost for a hot minute. Now, word is her third album is due in March, but to tide fans over in the interim, she will issue ‘Hurt: The EP’ on Friday, Dec. 9, in her native U.K. It’ll be available at Amazon.com.
Kesha dropped an expletive-laden birthday message to Britney Spears, who celebrated her 30th on Friday, Dec. 2. Brit was enjoying her big day, lounging in bed with sons Sean Preston and Jayden James as she poured through messages, greetings and well-wishes from fans. Fellow pop starlet Kesha sent Brit a video message, saying “Happy f—ing birthday.”
Selena Gomez tweeted a photo of herself and one of the loves of her life on Wednesday. She posted the message: “Look at how big my baby has gotten : )” And guess what? She wasn’t talking about her boyfriend Justin Bieber, either. Instead, she shared a shot of her recently rescued Husky mix Baylor, sitting on her lap and enjoying a leisurely snuggle.
Lady Gaga‘s ‘Marry the Night’ video is hardly that. It’s a nearly 15 minute, autobiographical mini-movie, directed by the Mother Monster herself. The vid — we’ll call it that for the sake of continuity — opens with the previously released prelude, with Gaga in a brown wig, on a gurney, wheeled by nurses in some sort of psych ward, and it’s a taste of Gaga-as-actress.
It’s a holiday wonderland and shopper’s paradise in the video for the Mariah Carey and Justin Bieber redo of her 1990s neo-classic ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You.’ The clip for this upbeat holiday anthem is bright and sparkly, and there appears to be a hint of crushing going on in this May-December collaboration.
Lady Gaga will grace the cover of the U.K. edition of ELLE and in anticipation of the new issue, a ‘Behind the Cover’ video has been released, featuring the Mother Monster in an array of soft pastel frocks. It’s a grainy, artsy clip and once again, Gaga makes love to the camera. She is in her element and incredibly comfortable when the lens is on her.
Oh Twitter. You unite as much as you divide. The latest divas to engage in a war of the words confined to 140 characters are Nicki Minaj and Cher. To be fair, it wasn’t exactly Minaj and Cher directly exchanging words or verbal barbs. It was Minaj’s Barbs — her pet name for her fans — who started spouting off to Cher. It had the makings of a mini feud, but the drama between these wig lovers seems to have died down with relative quickness.
So guess who Taylor Swift invited to perform on stage with her at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Monday, Nov. 21? That’d be Johnny Rzeznik, the lead singer of alt rock hitsmiths Goo Goo Dolls. The band originated in Buffalo, which is way up north in the Empire State. But they are still technically from New York so they fall in line with Swift’s tradition of inviting guests from the state in which she is touring to come on stage with her. The pair performed the band’s pretty, mid-’90s smash ‘Iris,’ a moving ballad, which is right in Swift’s wheelhouse.
