After her provocative twerking at the MTV Video Music Awards over the summer, what did Miley Cyrus do for an encore at the European version of the ceremony, held in Amsterdam, on Sunday night? She lit up a marijuana joint maybe.

While accepting the award for Best Video, for "Wrecking Ball," Miley smoked a cigarette that many have speculated contained weed, since marijuana use is accepted in Amsterdam. It's unclear whether that was indeed the case.

The U.S. telecast of the MTV Europe Music Awards edited out Miley's on-stage smoking.

This being Miley Cyrus, she also found the time to twerk, during her space-themed opening performance of "We Can't Stop." She arrived on stage in a "rocket" and wore a silver dress for the occasion. She also sang "Wrecking Ball" later in the show.

Miley even made headlines on the red carpet, wearing a dress that depicted late rappers Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur. The words "PLEASE STOP" were printed on the back of the dress, and "VIOLENCE" was printed on the front.

As for the awards, Eminem and Austin Mahone both earned multiple honors. Bruno Mars received Best Song for "Locked Out of Heaven," and Justin Bieber and Katy Perry won Best Male and Best Female, respectively.

The lineup of performers, aside from Miley, included Bruno, Katy and Kings of Leon.
