The 'Starz Youth Talent Show' is Monday September 15 at the 70th Annual Four States Fair and Rodeo. If you know anyone between the ages of 12 and 20 that has a talent, tell them to sign up today!

The 'Starz Youth Talent Show' purpose is to discover and develop talent among the youth in the Texarkana area.

This year's show is presented by the Kosmic Girls Band and Townsquare Media. The contest will be held at the Outdoor Stage during the 70th annual Four States Fair and Rodeo.  Preliminaries are on Monday, September 15, from 6-8pm with the finalists competing on Thursday, September 18.

COMPETITION:

The competition is open to all amateur performers between the ages of 12-20 with no previous professional experiences or earned wages for performing.  There will be 3 age categories: 12-14, 15-17, and 18-20. On Monday, September 15, all qualified contestants will perform on the Outdoor Stage in front of the judges and the audience.  Performers can compete only once. The top 3 winners in each age category will be invited to compete in the Talent Show finals on Thursday, September 18 on the Outdoor Stage. First place winners at the finals in each age category will win a three song demo CD and cover design from Smart Studios.  Prizes will be awarded to second and third place winners in each age category at the finals.

ENTRIES:

Entry deadline is THIS Friday, September 12, 2014 at 5pm. Each registered contestant will receive four gate admissions to the Fair for September 15 and as well as Thursday, September 18 if they qualify for the finals. Entry Forms can be downloaded online or picked up at the Townsquare Media studios at 2324 Arkansas Blvd, Texarkana, Arkansas.

 

CONTEST FORMAT:

Each contestant will have a time limit of 3 minutes for their performance and 2 minutes for set-up time and sound check.  Time will not be charged to your performance if the technicians request extra time. Townsquare Media and the Four States Fairgrounds will provide a complete sound system with technicians. Contestants are required to bring their own cassette, CD, instrument or props.

JUDGING:

Each performance will be judged on stage presence, artistic performance, audience response and musical/talent content.  Lyrics and presentation must be acceptable in a family environment.
