Annual Meagan Mauldin Love for the Cure Fundraiser on Saturday

The annual Meagan Mauldin Love For The Cure Spring fundraiser is Saturday, May 14, from 11AM to 5PM on the patio of Hot Tails Crawfish. The silent auction, bake sale and raffles help to pay for expenses of many local cancer patients. 

The fundraiser celebrates the life and love of Meagan Mauldin while helping to raise money to cover expenses of families that are battling cancer. Health insurance doesn't cover all of the expenses involved in traveling, food and housing when families have to temporarily relocate for treatment or drive back and forth for chemotherapy. Not to mention the loss of income because most cancer patients are not able to continue to work while undergoing treatment. The bills do not stop when someone gets cancer. This benefit will help so many families not have to worry about how they will make ends meet. When someone is trying to beat cancer, they should be able to focus on healing and not have to worry about how to keep the lights on at home or about losing their house or car.

Come celebrate Meagan's life and give to this most worthy cause. Hot Tails Crawfish hut is located on State Line Avenue in Texarkana, Ark., five miles north of I-30, on the right just before you cross the Red River bridge. There will be t-shirts, bracelets and baked goods available to purchase. All proceeds go to cancer patients' medical, living and travel expenses.

Meagan Mauldin was a very special and extremely strong young lady. She took us along and shared the tremendous struggles she faced during her illness yet she showed us her strength as well as her belief in heaven and her love of God. It is truly amazing for such a young person to teach so many of us about love, loss and hope.
