The residents of Nash,Texas approved two propositions in regard to alcohol consumption.

According to an interview with Chuck Lucas, City Economic Development Director of Nash by KTAL News 6, "Proposition 1 is for the sale of beer and wine for off premises consumption; that means, there'll be no bars, no liquor stores, but there'll be beer and wine sales in convenience stores. Proposition 2 would allow mixed beverage sales in restaurants."

The city's sales tax revenue would increase to an estimated $400,000 yearly when the propositions pass. Lucas says that businesses selling alcohol would be subject to specific zoning laws and be primarily along Kings Highway and New Boston Road.
