Wadley Regional  Medical Center presents the 2016 Texarkana Heart Ball at 5:30PM Saturday, March 12,  at the Texarkana, Texas Convention Center.

The goal of the Heart Ball is to raise money to support research, education and advocacy to fight heart diseases and stroke, the nation’s number one and number five killers. Last year in Texarkana, the American Heart Association trained 2,746 people in Hands-Only CPR and 380 women registered for the Go Red For Women movement.

Also last year, 11 teaching gardens were planted in Texas and Arkansas, teaching children the value of good eating habits. Many Texarkana schools received educational materials, health lesson plans and physical education equipment including:

  • Hooks Elementary
  • Hubbard School
  • James Bowie Elementary
  • Spring Lake Park Elementary
  • Theron Jones Early Literacy Center
  • Union Elementary
  • Genoa Central Elementary
  • Morriss Elementary
  • Wake Village Elementary.
